Tahapan Membuat Layout
Dalam mengerjakan desain, kebanyakan orang langsung menggunakan software pada komputer. Begitu umumnya cara kerja tersebut, sampai terbentuk persepsi bahwa belajar desain sama dengan belajar komputer. Komputer dan software memang diperlukan dalam mendesain/me-layout, tetapi itu adalah tahapan ke sekian. Adapun proses yang benar dimulai dengan membuat:
Ada beberapa pertanyaan yang perlu dijawab sebelum mendesain layout yang baik:
- Apa tujuan desain tersebut?
- Siapa target audience-nya?
- Apa pesan yang ingin disampaikan kepada target audience?
- Bagaimana cara menyampaikan pesan tersebut?
- Di mana, media apa dan kapan desain itu akan dilihat oleh target audience?
Jawaban semua pertanyaan di atas adalah konsep dasar secara umum yang harus ada sebagai panduan anda untuk mendesain layout.
Setelah mengerjakan konsep desain, kemudian tentukan media dan spesifikasi yang digunakan:
- Media apa yang paling cocok. Misalnya flyer, brosur, spanduk dll.
- Bahan. Misalnya kertas daur ulang, fancy, kain dll.
- Ukuran
- Posisi. Misalnya vertikal/portrait atau horisontal/landscape.
- Kapan, berapa lama dan di mana karya desain tersebut akan diperlihatkan pada target audience.
Berdasarkan spesifikasi media yang dipilih, kita mulai merencanakan pengorganisasian layout dengan membuat thumbnails atau sketsa layout dalam bentuk mini. Sebaiknya dalam mengerjakannya tidak langsung menggunakan komputer, cukup dengan pensil dan kertas dulu.
Thumbnails berguna tidak hanya untuk memperkirakan letak elemen layout, termasuk juga urutan dan pengaturan halaman untuk karya desain publikasi yang lebih kompleks, seperti buku atau majalah.
Untuk mengantisipasi kesalahan cetak, dibutuhkan alat bantu yang murah dan sederhana yaitu dummy atau mock-up. Dummy adalah contoh jadi suatu desain, sehingga kita dapat melihat bagaimana kira-kira bentuk karya desain tersebut nantinya.
4. Desktop Publishing
Setelah semua panduan dan tahapan sudah lengkap, baru menggunakan sooftware di komputer untuk memulai eksekusi desain.
Program desktop publishing yang bisa digunakan antara lain seperti InDesign, PageMaker, Photoshop, Freehand, Illustrator, CorelDraw dll.
Photoshop paling ideal untuk mengedit image yang berbasis bitmap, untuk membuat image, lebih mudah menggunakan program seperti FreeHand, Illustrator dan CorelDraw, program-program tersebut cocok untuk membuat desain logo, flyer, brosur dll. InDesign dan PageMaker cocok untuk membuat desain dengan banyak halaman, seperti buku, majalah, koran dll.
Dengan mengenal dan menguasai berbagai software tersebut di atas akan sangat membantu kita dalam mengerjakan sebuah karya desain, misalnya untuk membuat majalah dengan banyak foto/image, kita tidak dapat hanya mengandalkan semuanya pada InDesign saja. Karena InDesign diperuntukkan untuk melayout halaman-halaman publikasi, namun tidak untuk mengedit foto atau membuat image yang akan digunakan. Artinya kita perlu beberapa software berbeda untuk sebuah pekerjaan desain.
Setelah selesai tahapan ini, perlu dilakukan cek ulang, untuk mengantisipasi kesalahan, kemudian menyiapkan file untuk dicetak, diantaranya pengaturan warna, mengumpulkan font yang akan dipakai, memberikan penanda pada bagian-bagian desain yang akan dipotong atau dilipat nantinya.
5. Percetakan
Pada tahap ini desainer menentukan teknik cetak apakah yang cocok untuk mencetak karya desainnya. Saat ini ada 5 macam teknik cetak yang umum digunakan, yaitu: Offset, Cetak Tinggi, Rotogravure, Sablon dan Digital.
Untuk mendapatkan hasil cetak yang optimal, diperlukan kerja sama yang baik antara pihak desainer dan percetakan.

Menggambar dengan Pensil - Latihan Menggambar dengan Cepat dan Mudah
Sebuah gambar pensil yang baik dapat dengan mudah dicapai jika artis bersedia untuk menginvestasikan banyak waktu dan usaha dalam memperoleh teknik yang relevan. Bahkan mereka yang merasa bahwa mereka memiliki sedikit atau tidak ada bakat menggambar bisa dengan cepat memastikan bagaimana untuk menghasilkan gambar pensil yang baik.
Ada banyak cara yang baik untuk belajar teknik ini, seperti menghadiri sebuah kelas seni, mengikuti kursus seni online dan tentu saja, membaca buku atau menonton cd tutorial. Atau, trial and error dengan beberapa latihan menggambar cepat dan mudah dapat membantu untuk memulai proses belajar.
1. Silahkan lihat di sekitar rumah Anda dan carilah apakah ada benda yang ingin Anda gambar. Benda itu harus sesuatu yang membuat Anda tertarik secara visual, bunga misalnya, cincin, atau bingkai foto? Buatlah pilihan Anda dan kemudian biarkan diri Anda sendiri selama sepuluh menit untuk bisa menggambarnya. Setelah Anda mencoba menggambar, evaluasi pekerjaan Anda dengan jujur tetapi adil terhadap hasilnya.
2. Sekarang temukan foto di majalah yang ingin Anda gambar juga. Bisa gambar orang, tempat atau lainnya. Ketika Anda membolak-balik halaman, pikirkan bagaimana Anda akan mencoba untuk menggambar obyek yang ada pada halaman di depan Anda. Setelah Anda membuat pilihan, cobalah untuk terhubung dengan obyek tersebut dan kemudian mulai menggambar. Coba selesaikan dalam sepuluh menit, dan setelah Anda selesai, simpulkan dengan mengevaluasi bagaimana Anda mengerjakannya.
3. Jika Anda memiliki hewan peliharaan, maka latihan berikutnya adalah menggambar hewan peliharaan keluarga. Sekali lagi, biarkan sepuluh menit diri Anda untuk cepat melihat apakah Anda dapat menangkap kemiripan sementara Anda menggambar dengan cepat. Fokus pada gambar pensil Anda dan berikan perhatian khusus pada bulu misalnya. Tidak perlu untuk menggambar segala sesuatu dengan susah payah, cukup gambar apa yang Anda butuhkan untuk dapat menangkap kemiripan.
4. Sekarang menemukan sesuatu yang lain di sekitar Anda dan kali ini, biarkan diri Anda setengah jam untuk fokus tidak hanya pada gambar, tetapi untuk bekerja dengan cahaya dan bayangan. Dengan memberi diri Anda sedikit waktu ekstra, Anda akan dapat menggambar pensil dan melihatnya berkembang. Latihan sebelumnya akan memungkinkan Anda untuk merasa rileks dan berhubungan dengan teknik gambar Anda dan ini akan memastikan bahwa Anda dapat menghasilkan karya terbaik Anda nantinya.

There are many more styles of handbags that exist on the market today, but the styles listed above are by far the most popular and functional styles. Factors to consider when choosing the right style handbag for you are the price, material and brand.
